When the World Pulls You Outward, Come Back Inward

ChatGPT Image Jul 15, 2025, 11_40_42 AM

There are mornings when I wake up already feeling stretched thin.
The kind of mornings where my breath is shallow.
My mind is racing.
And the weight of a too-full life sits heavy in my chest.

Maybe you know this feeling too.

You’ve been overstimulated, overcommitted, under-rested, maybe even over-caffeinated—and yet life keeps moving. The calls don’t stop. The inbox doesn’t pause. And there’s no “off” switch you can press.

So what do you do when you need a reset—but can’t just take the day off?

For me, it’s a walk.
Not a power walk. Not a workout.
But a slow return to myself.

I walk among the trees.
I feel the breeze move across my skin.
I smell the dew-covered grass.
I let my senses pull me back into the present.

I don’t walk to escape the world.
I walk to come home to it—fully.
But more than that, I walk to come home to me.
To my body. To my breath. To the stillness underneath the static.

We Live in a World That Pulls Us Out of Our Bodies

It’s not your fault. This world was designed for speed, stimulation, and survival.
But you were designed for something deeper.

And in a body that’s constantly moving in reaction, it’s easy to forget what it feels like to live in response to something real—like truth, or presence, or breath.

So we forget.
We lose touch with that part of us that feels rooted. Grounded. Alive.
We lose touch with our own inner compass.

And when that happens—when the nervous system is stuck in go-go-go mode—no amount of motivation or mindset hacks will bring you back.
Only one thing can.

The body.

Return to the Body: A Men’s Retreat for Reconnection

That’s why I created Return to the Body — a 3-day retreat happening October 17–19 in Northern California.

It’s not a bootcamp. It’s not a performance weekend.
It’s a soft but powerful return to the deeper rhythms inside you.

Over these three days, we’ll gather in nature with a circle of men for:

  • Breathwork and nervous system practices
  • Movement and embodiment work
  • Time in the forest, in stillness and in play
  • Honest conversations and supportive brotherhood
  • Integration circles to explore what’s ready to shift

It’s for the man who’s tired of carrying it all alone.
For the man who wants to soften the inner armor and finally hear what his body’s been trying to say.
For the man who longs to feel alive again—from the inside out.

The Reset You’ve Been Needing

You don’t have to wait for burnout to start listening.
You can choose to slow down before you break down.

So I ask you again:

What do you do when your body needs a reset?
And what might become possible… if you finally gave yourself the space to return?
